Why attend UPM 2020

Over the past 6 months, COVID-19 has changed the way we work and connect; we rely more than ever on our online connections to maintain relationships, share resources, and provide business continuity. Ultrapure Micro (UPM) is pleased to announce that the 2020 conference will be going virtual, in order to provide the much-needed technical information, industry developments, and networking opportunities that will help the semiconductor industry develop.

2019 Facts & Figures

How is UPM 2020 different to other virtual events?

UPM 2020 Agenda

With the help of our co-moderators we have curated an event which incorporates technical presentations, engaging roundtables, expert-led panel discussions and open networking sessions within a condensed period of time. The agenda for this event will be divided into topic relevant sessions, meaning you can join for as little or as much time as you like, and you can listen to only the topics that are relevant to you, whilst still managing your day to day responsibilities.

This year’s agenda will run over three days, with numerous technical sessions featuring presentations on AMC, UPW, Water Management, and High Purity Chemicals & Gases.

NEW! AMC
As critical dimensions shrink, the awareness of airborne molecular contamination grows. For the first time UPM will provide a retrospective review of AMC issues, exploring the clean-room environment, analytical instrumentation and filtration performance.

Ultrapure Water
Innovation in Ultrapure Water production is driven by the need for improved particle detection and removal, innovative system design, and optimized operations. Sessions will explore these issues through the discussion of novel analytical technologies, options for system configuration and design, and best known methods and techniques.

Water Management
Water Management practices face an ever changing landscape with continuous developments in environmental compliance, a growing need to cut costs in water consumption and energy demand, while addressing non-traditional water management challenges. These sessions will break down the challenges and solutions around reuse, drainage, energy savings, and open loops.

High Purity Chemicals & Gases
High-purity chemicals and gases are critical to the semiconductor manufacturing process and so need to meet stringent standards. These sessions will explore innovative approaches to impurity detection and purification, filtration methods, optimized system design, as well as purification and delivery systems.

Virtual Networking

The UPM conference strives to facilitate productive cooperation between semiconductor manufacturers, vendors and suppliers to increase yield, decrease costs and improve efficiency. Alongside the technical agenda, the virtual event will provide numerous networking opportunities, as we know this is one of the most important aspects of the UPM event.

Our virtual networking space is an immersive experience which allows for face-to-face interaction between delegates, sponsors and speakers. Run through a software called Remo, our specially designed 2D floorplan will provide an easy to use and familiar visual experience, designed to mimic a physical conference. On your screen you will be presented with a roundtable room, where you will be able to join different groups of people at different topic tables, facilitate small group discussions and even host one-to-one meetings. Joining a conversation is as easy as clicking a table and introducing yourself.

Our virtual event technology will also provide a delegate list which showcases everyone in the room.  This is the perfect tool through which to grab someone’s attention and pre-arrange meetings, making the most of the networking time at the conference.

Learn more about how Remo can maximise the networking value of  this event through roundtable discussion, 2-seater one-to-one networking tables and in-session chat functionality.

Virtual Exhibitors

We are extremely grateful for all the support from our 2020 sponsors and exhibitors, all of whom are keen to meet you at their virtual booths. Alongside the networking area, each exhibitor will have a dedicated space where delegates can explore technical resources, send private messages, or have a live conversation through the video booth function. Our sponsors are there to help you with your manufacturing needs and will be happy to talk you through their most recent developments.
