Vincent Como

West Region Engineering Sponsor, Kiewit

Biography

Vince has over 23 years of experience in engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of water and wastewater projects and other process-focused facilities for the power, municipal, oil and gas industries. A registered PE, he has successfully led teams on projects of all sizes, up to mega-projects over $1 billion. He served as engineering manager for an ammonia plant expansion that included an 8.2 MGD advanced water treatment plant, 3-mile pipeline and 15 kV substation; and project manager for a 315 MW supercritical coal fired plant in Jakarta, Indonesia.

In previous roles he’s been responsible for defining boundary conditions for water and wastewater quality and quantity to help clients select the proper water source, wastewater destination and means of treatment to properly balance plant cost with water stewardship. This work has often entailed evaluations of zero-liquid discharge systems, including the use of crystallizers where he relies on hands on experience in Orlando to properly quantify for clients. His strong technical, management and communication skills allow him to effectively interface with executive and administrative staff, design and construction personnel, clients, and subconsultants and subcontractors.

As Design-Build Manager, Vince will serve as the bridge between the Carollo design team and the Kiewit construction team. He will manage design handoffs for schedule and scope with construction, attend Task Force Meetings and provide input in design reviews. He will utilize his extensive experience with ZLD and crystallizer systems to provide value in engineering and construction.
