Joonas Vanhanen is the CTO and co-founder of Airmodus Ltd., a company manufacturing instruments for detecting nano-sized particles in the air. He defended his PhD at the University of Helsinki focusing on new instrument development for detection of freshly formed aerosol particles in the atmosphere. Before Airmodus, he worked as a research scientist at the University of Helsinki as well as at the Finnish Meteorological Institute. At Airmodus he first acted as the CEO and now as the CTO. He is also part of the board of directors of Airmodus. In the present position he enjoys exploring the different fields of aerosol technology and science ranging from air purifications to emission research, with the aim of solving problems through direct measurements together with Airmodus customers.
