Dr. Yu received his Ph.D. in Microbiology from the Center of Biofilm Engineering of Montana State University in 1994.  He joined Nalco Water in 1994, and his current position is Industry Technical Consultant with the Manufacturing/Food & Beverage Strategic Business Unit.

Prior to join the current marketing position, Dr. Yu was in Cooling Water R&D for twelve years.  He has serviced various industrial sectors within Nalco Water including power, primary metals, refinery, glass, plastics, fiberglass mat & insulation, fiber cement, nonwovens and microelectronics.  In his tenure at Nalco Water, Dr. Yu has developed two patented Biodetergent products for microbial fouling control in industrial water systems.  He also helped numerous customers by providing on-site audit and technical assistance and training. 

Dr. Yu has over thirty years of experience in water research, and currently holds two U.S. patents and 40 publications in scientific journals and book chapters.  Dr. Yu is currently a member of Cooling Water Institute (CTI), American Society for Microbiology (ASM), Sigma Xi, American Water Works Association (AWWA), and American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE), National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE), and Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI).
