César Garza is a Staff Engineer at Samsung Austin Semiconductor. He has more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry in a variety of management and technical roles. He has been granted 40 patents; has published more than 50 technical papers, and a chapter in the Semiconductor Processing Handbook. In 2003, he received the Outstanding Technical Achievements Award in Industry by HENNAC in recognition for technical achievements in the semiconductor industry. The Selection Committee, an independent group with representatives from industry, government and academia, was chaired by Prof. Ben Streetman, Dean of the College of Engineering at UT Austin. He received a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from TCU.
Dr. Garza has also contributed to the educational field. He was part of the task force sponsored by the American Chemical Society that recommended the formation of the American Association of Chemistry Teachers. He is a certified secondary science teacher in the State of Texas. Has taught chemistry pre-AP, pre-IB, AP and IB and biology pre-AP. He remains engaged in STEM activities at Samsung Austin Semiconductor.
