Ferdinando Crapulli

Research Scientist, Trojan Technologies

Biography

Dr. Crapulli is a research scientist at Trojan Technologies. His work is centered on a specific Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP): industrial water irradiated by short-wavelength light (185nm) to mineralize organic carbon species. His research is conducted experimentally and numerically with the objective of process analysis and product optimization. Dr. Crapulli has more than 10 years of experience in water and wastewater modelling with the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations. He has published several papers in international journals and participated in conferences on topics related to UV/water. In previous experiences, Dr.Crapulli focused on numerical models of disinfection contact tanks in wastewater treatment plants validating these models with experimental data. Crapulli received his B.Eng. degree (with honors) in Environmental Engineering from Polytechnic of Bari (Italy) and Ph.D. in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from Western University (Canada).
